As a Graphics Production Associate, you will assist the Graphics Manager in day-to-day operations of our graphics production room. This role involves operating advanced printing and application equipment, preparing graphics files for production, and contributing to the creation of high-quality signage.

Key Responsibilities
- Graphics Room Operations: Assist with daily graphics production tasks, including the operation of wide format printers, vinyl plotters, laminators, and application equipment.
- File Preparation: Prepare graphics files for production using various RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Versaworks).
- Printer Operation: Operate wide format, roll-to-roll, and flatbed printers, including loading materials (up to 50 pounds), conducting routine machine operations, troubleshooting, and performing general maintenance.
- Sign Creation: Design and create a variety of signage types according to client specifications.
- Vinyl Application: Mask, weed, and apply vinyl to various substrates as needed.
- Laminating: Operate pressure laminating equipment while adhering to standard safety precautions.
- Vinyl Cutting: Load and cut vinyl on a plotter, ensuring precision and quality.
- Banner Production: Hem and grommet banners to meet client requirements.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance throughout the facility to maintain a clean and functional workspace.
- Material Handling: Load rigid sheets of wood, plastic, and metal onto router/cutter tables and operate a vertical panel saw, table saw, or other power tools while following safety procedures.
- Machinery Maintenance: Keep all machinery in good working condition through regular maintenance and care.
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers and answer phone inquiries in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support team success and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
- Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or technical certification in graphic design, printing technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Familiarity with RIP software like Onyx or Versaworks, and experience operating wide-format printers, laminators, and vinyl plotters.
- Physical and Practical Abilities: Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Strong attention to detail for precision tasks, such as vinyl cutting, weeding, and application.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and client interaction. Problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting equipment or production challenges.
- Experience Level: Prior experience in a sign shop, print production, or graphics production environment is preferred but not required for entry-level roles.
Preferred Skills
- Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with tools such as drills, saws, and tape measures, particularly in the context of material handling and signage fabrication.
- Safety Awareness: Basic understanding of safety protocols related to operating production equipment, handling materials, and working in a shop environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for precision to ensure high-quality output in tasks like vinyl cutting, weeding, and applying graphics.
